| Caution | Sodium peroxide reacts aggressively when it comes into contact with water or moisture, releasing intense heat that can cause nearby organic materials to catch fire. Therefore, it’s critical to avoid any exposure to damp substances or living tissue. If contact does occur, immediately rinse the affected area thoroughly and continue rinsing until there’s no further reaction. | |||
| Properties | Store below 30°C. Avoid contact with organic materials, fire or explosion may result. | |||
| Note(s): 1] Assay (if applicable) method mentioned.
2] When dissolving sodium peroxide, the material should be added slowly and in small portions to well-cooled water; when neutralizing, the acid must be added cautiously in small portions, and the solution kept cool. WARNING Hazard statements: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. May intensify fire; oxidizer. Precautionary statements Prevention: Do not breathe dust or mist. Keep away from heat. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wear protective gloves/clothing and eye/face protection. Take any precaution to avoid mixing with combustible or incompatible materials. Response: IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Specific treatment: refer to Label or MSDS. If on skin or hair: remove /take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse with water/shower. IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Absorb spillage to prevent material damage. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
